Sept. 11 Service of Remembrance

Miriam Williamson

“Let us bring hope where there was once loss. Happiness instead of grief. Joy where there was sorrow. Let us reflect on the changing realities of the world we live in, and offer hope to those who surround us, both here at Elon and beyond.”

Chase Rumley, SGA president in an e-mail to Elon students

Thursday was the seventh anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks on the US. At 6 p.m., members of the Elon community gathered around the flag pole in front of Alamance for a Sept. 11 Service of Remembrance. Luminaries were placed in the grass alongside Haggard Avenue to represent the more than 3,000 victims of the attack.

It’s good to see coverage of this community event. Nice try to evoke a mood with the music. You’re experimenting with how to communicate this information in the best way you can. While these are brief clips, it shows you are out there trying, and your work will continue to improve!
